Man Tin is a Hong Kong–based artist and scholar whose practice examines the phenomenological and aesthetic dimensions of human–machine collaboration. Working across computational aesthetics, machine creativity, and the philosophy of technology, his research explores how artificial intelligence reshapes artistic perception, phenomenological experience, and the creative agency between humans and machines.
Currently an Assistant Professor at Hong Kong Metropolitan University, Man Tin’s academic and artistic outputs have been featured in international journals and exhibitions, including Springer Nature, ISEA, IHSI, IHIET, the Ars Electronica Festival, PROTOTYP Festival, and SidewalkCINEMA Festival. Through his interdisciplinary practice, he has developed a synthesis of theoretical inquiry and experimental aesthetics, bridging digital technologies and contemporary art discourse.
As the founder of PRÉCÉDÉE artspace, a 24/7 contemporary art and media space in Hong Kong featured in The New York Times, he has cultivated an environment dedicated to experimental practice, critical dialogue, and cross‑disciplinary collaboration. Beyond his institutional role, he holds executive and committee positions across a range of professional and academic arts organizations, including the Hong Kong Designers Association (HKDA), the Young Artists Development Foundation (YADF), and the Hong Kong Photographic Culture Association (HKPCA). Internationally, he is affiliated with the Chinese Digital Games Research Association (Chinese DiGRA), the Center for Artificial Art Research (CAAR) in the Czech Republic, and the Föreningen Musikspektra T Society (FMT) in Sweden, reflecting his sustained engagement in fostering global dialogue at the intersection of art and emerging technologies.
